If you only see subtitles for voices and don't hear them, then on the launcher under the audio tab uncheck 'Disable software-only audio effects' and check 'Force software audio'. Then you hear the subtitles read out. This fixes the problem that many people hear no speech during the game (and don't even realise they were meant to, but all the files are in the game \Data\Sounds\Speech\ folder as .ogg files). The game needs patching before playing. E.g. from http://www.fileplanet.com/96381/0/0/0/1/section/Patches\ If you get an error about .Net when you try to run the launcher, go to CD2 and install \dotNet\dotnetfx.exe then \redist\DirectX9\FWPC_DXInstall.exe - that should fix it.

This game will not start at retail version, or with the current (1.2) patch because Vista does not include DirectX 9 (the game complains about DX9 not being installed). However, if you download the installer for DirectX9 from the Microsoft website and install it on Vista it will run fine after that. Tested on Vista Business

Works fine in Windows 2003 Server SP2 (32bit), however I had to upgrade my nvidia drivers to latest beta (version 100.xx) to prevent a crashing issue when saving a game.

version tested 2.7 on Vista 5744 the games work but there is flickering bug in menu (the background picture) and in game the top menu bar is mirrored by a flickering white one
