Mainboard ASUS K8V SE Deluxe. Promise embedded controller. Driver Promise 64_bit for 64-bit Driver 1.00.1.39 is not accepted by Windows XP x64. Doesn't work.

no problem! first install drivers for this controller, reboot, check if device is listed in device manager. power down switch harddisk to the controller --> power on. please read the manual from promise controller!

When you try to install xp64 and give it the xp driver on floppy it says "The Device driver is not compatible with the x64-based version of Windows your computer is running"

Received the follow messages:
1) Just bought the Promise Ultra100 Controller card. Works great in Windows 2000 using IBM 45GB(ATA/100) Deskstar 75GXP harddrive.
2) Good news for all of us with the Promise ATA 100 controller. They've finally released a driver that fixes the SUPER LOOOOONG Windows detection problem. It's vers. 1.60 build 25. It is rumored that it was posted by ASUS tech to USENET. It also works for all versions of Windows.

Took two restarts, had to point to controller drivers (all as instructions state). Working, but running really slow in RAID 1 with two identical drives... Seems to bottle down system.

Had a slight problem, WinXP saw it as a RAID device but wouldn't accept the drivers floppy as valid drivers. Had to remove device, allow WinXP to find it on next re-boot and then point it at drivers.

FastTrak 66 IDE RAID Controller (1)

Installing newest FastTrak drivers in Text mode setup from diskette. Whistler freezes next boot (graphical mode). Booting/installing from RAID controller will not work.

In a HP VECTRA VL400 with W2000, after the installation of the SCSI controller PROMISE SCSIPLUS (based on symbios 53C815 chip) the PC lock on boot and i must switch off the PC (CTRL+ALT+DEL is also locked).

New drivers for the fasttrak66 posted at
promise's website on easter monday. No workarounds required, no fiddling
with config inf's. New Bios out, the drivers are Beta however. Although i
had win2k running fine with them, so they're arent really any bugs found
after 24hours usage so far. Before win2k wouldnt install at all. Win2k
must hit f6 to install the drivers on a clean install, with the new bios,
of course. In the selection from the made driver disk is a selection from
there different products, one of them is fastrak100, seems promise will
release a ata-100 raid card then..

This IDE RAID controller will
not work as a boot device in the release version of 2000. The fix for
the FastTrack 66 does not help here.
