Received the follow messages:
1) Same error (blank dialog) as in Chessmaster 7000.
2) I've had the problem with the blank dialog box, but found a way out! I'm not sure if it will work for you, but here goes: On my computer I have a modem (Sportster Flash V.90 Voice PnP) with a built-in soundcard. I never use this soundcard (Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device), but uses my "real" soundcard (Aureal). I tried to disable the Unimodem soundcard through the Device Manager, and now CM8000 run like a charm :-)
3) Works Fine with TBird + Abit KT7-Raid, Win2k SP1 + October Compatiblity Update
4) Sort of works but crashes whenever a menu item is accessed. Generally unstable.
5) This is suppose to work under Windows 2000, but this version still doesn't work for me! When it loads up, I get the Chessmaster 8000 screen and then a blank dialog box. This is exactly what happened with the 7000 version (I'm running a RivaTNT PCI card). Game works fine under Windows Millennium.
5) Tried Fix in (2) and it Worked! Only works if you disable modem wave device - Not mapping through that device in the audio setup does not work Windows 2000 2195 SP1 2x550mhz Pentium III on Supermicro DM3 768mb ram videologic sonic fury - 4063 drivers Geforce DDR - detonator 7.52 Directx 8 Final
